Ticket types and prices

Add general admission ticket types with a name, a price, a quantity and per-order limits.

Who can do this: Owners, admins and managers.

Before you start

  • Create the event first. Ticket types are added on the event's own page.

Part 1Add a ticket type

  1. 1Click Events in the sidebar, then click the name of your event.
  2. 2Scroll to Ticket types.
  3. 3Click Add ticket type. On a brand new event the form is already open.
  4. 4Type what buyers will see in Name, for example General Admission.
  5. 5Add a short line in Description if you want to explain what the ticket includes.
  6. 6Enter the price in Price (USD). Enter 0 for a free ticket.
  7. 7Enter how many you can sell in Quantity available. Leave it blank for unlimited.
  8. 8Set Min per order and Max per order. They start at 1 and 10, and each can be from 1 to 100.
  9. 9Click Add ticket type.

Ticket types appear on your event page in the order you add them, so add the one you want at the top first.

Part 2Check what you have added

  1. 1Look at the table under Ticket types.
  2. 2Read the Price column to confirm each price.
  3. 3Read the Sold column to see tickets sold. If you set a quantity, it shows as sold out of the total, for example 12 / 200.
  4. 4Look at the What a buyer pays card on the right. It shows a worked example for 2 of your first ticket type, with fees, the Buyer total and what You net.

Part 3Remove a ticket type

You can only delete a ticket type that has not sold any tickets.

  1. 1Find the ticket type in the Ticket types table.
  2. 2Click Delete at the right end of its row.
  3. 3Add it again with the right details if you were correcting a mistake.

Tips

  • There is no edit button for a ticket type. To fix a name, price or quantity before any tickets have sold, delete the ticket type and add it again.
  • Once 20 or fewer tickets remain, buyers see a warning such as Only 12 left on your event page. At zero they see Sold out.
  • A ticket priced at 0 shows to buyers as Free.
  • If you attached a seating chart, the form also shows Ticket kind. Choose General admission - no seat for standing room or lawn tickets sold next to reserved seats.

If something goes wrong

You see "This ticket type has tickets sold against it. Hide it instead of deleting."

Tickets have already been sold for this type, so it cannot be deleted. The event page does not have a hide switch for ticket types at this time. To stop all online sales, click Close sales at the top right of the event page. Contact Ticket-Worx support if you need one sold ticket type taken off sale.

You see "Maximum per order cannot be below the minimum."

Make Max per order the same as or higher than Min per order, then click Add ticket type again.

You see "Name the ticket type."

The Name box is empty. Type a name and try again.

A buyer says they cannot pick just one ticket.

That ticket type has a Min per order above 1. The first click of the plus button jumps straight to the minimum. This is useful for things like a family four-pack.
