Multi-day events and day tickets

Run an event over several dates and sell full-run passes, tickets for specific days, or both.

Who can do this: Owners, admins and managers.

Before you start

  • The event must be created with This is a multi-day event ticked. This choice is made on the New event form and cannot be changed from the event page later.

Part 1Create a multi-day event

Ticket-Worx creates one event day for each date between your start and your end, named Day 1, Day 2 and so on.

  1. 1Click Events in the sidebar.
  2. 2Click New event.
  3. 3Fill in Event title.
  4. 4Set Starts to the date and opening time of the first day.
  5. 5Set Ends to the date and closing time of the last day.
  6. 6Tick This is a multi-day event.
  7. 7Click Create event.
  8. 8Check the Event days card on the right side of the event page. It lists every day and its date.

Each day uses the same opening and closing time as your start and end. At most 60 days are created.

Part 2Sell a pass for the whole event

  1. 1Scroll to Ticket types on the event page.
  2. 2Click Add ticket type.
  3. 3Type a name such as Weekend Pass in Name.
  4. 4Enter the price in Price (USD).
  5. 5Leave Valid for on The whole event (full-run pass).
  6. 6Click Add ticket type.

The buyer gets one ticket with one QR code. It is admitted once on each day of the event, and never twice on the same day.

Part 3Sell a ticket for specific days

  1. 1Scroll to Ticket types on the event page.
  2. 2Click Add ticket type.
  3. 3Type a name such as Saturday Only in Name.
  4. 4Enter the price in Price (USD).
  5. 5Change Valid for to Specific days only.
  6. 6Tick each day this ticket is good for.
  7. 7Click Add ticket type.

If you tick more than one day, the buyer receives one separate ticket for each day, each with its own QR code. A two-day ticket bought in a quantity of 2 sends 4 tickets. Each one only works on its own day.

Tips

  • In the Ticket types table, the Valid for column shows Whole event for a pass, or the day names for a day ticket. Buyers see Valid all days or the day names on your event page.
  • Your public event page shows a Schedule card that lists every day and date.
  • At the door, the scanner picks today's event day for you. A full-run pass scanned a second time on the same day shows "Already checked in."
  • If you only need one date, leave the multi-day box unticked. The Valid for choice does not appear on single-day events.

If something goes wrong

You see "Choose at least one day this ticket is valid for."

You picked Specific days only but did not tick a day. Tick one or more days, then click Add ticket type again.

The scanner says "This ticket is for Day 2" (or another day).

The guest holds a day ticket for a different day than the one being scanned. Ask for the ticket for today, or sell them a ticket for today at the box office.

The scanner says "Choose which day you are scanning for, then scan again."

A full-run pass was scanned with no day selected. Pick the day on the scanning screen, then scan the pass again.

The Valid for choice is missing from the ticket form.

The event was created as a single-day event. The multi-day choice cannot be switched on afterward. Create a new event with This is a multi-day event ticked.
