Accessible seating

Mark a whole section, single seats or a table as wheelchair accessible so buyers can spot them on the seat map.

Who can do this: Owners, admins and managers.

Before you start

  • Create a chart with at least one section or table. See the article on building a seating chart.

Part 1Mark a whole section as accessible

  1. 1Click Seating in the dashboard sidebar, then click your chart.
  2. 2Click the section on the chart to select it.
  3. 3Scroll the panel on the right to Accessible seating area.
  4. 4Check the box. Every seat in the section now shows a small wheelchair mark.
  5. 5Click Save chart.

Part 2Mark individual seats as accessible

  1. 1Click the section on the chart to select it.
  2. 2Find Clicking a seat in the panel and choose Marks it accessible.
  3. 3Click each accessible seat on the chart. A wheelchair mark appears on it.
  4. 4Click a marked seat again to remove the mark.
  5. 5Check the line under Clicking a seat. It counts how many seats are marked, and has a Clear link to remove all the marks in that section.
  6. 6Switch Clicking a seat back to Removes it when you are done, if you still need to remove seats.
  7. 7Click Save chart.

Part 3Mark a table as accessible

  1. 1Click the table on the chart to select it.
  2. 2Check Accessible table in the panel.
  3. 3Click Save chart.

Part 4What buyers see

  1. 1Open your event page and look at the seat map.
  2. 2Look for the small wheelchair mark on each accessible seat.
  3. 3Check the key above the map. It shows Accessible next to the wheelchair mark whenever the chart has at least one accessible seat.
  4. 4Hover over an accessible seat. Its name ends with (accessible). Screen readers read this out too.

Accessible seats sell at the price of their price category, like any other seat. Ticket-Worx does not limit who can buy them.

Tips

  • To leave open floor space for wheelchairs, set Clicking a seat to Removes it and remove seats, then mark the seats beside the space as accessible for companions.
  • Add a text label such as Accessible seating next to the area so it is easy to find on the map.
  • Accessible marks are part of the chart, so they carry over to every event that uses it.

If something goes wrong

Clicking a seat removed it instead of marking it.

Clicking a seat was set to Removes it. Click Undo, or click the dashed circle to put the seat back. Then choose Marks it accessible and click the seat again.

Clicking a seat does nothing except select the section.

Seat clicks only work in the selected section. Click the section once to select it, then click the seat.

The count of marked seats and the Clear link are missing.

They are hidden while Accessible seating area is checked, because the whole section is already accessible. Uncheck it to go back to marking single seats.
