Print tickets on thermal ticket stock
Print your own tickets on 2 x 5.5 inch thermal ticket stock from the Print tickets page, with the browser settings that make them line up.
Who can do this: Owners, admins and managers. Box office sellers can open the page and print, but their prints are not recorded as printed.
Before you start
- Install your ticket printer's driver on the computer and load 2 x 5.5 inch thermal stock. This is the only size Ticket-Worx prints.
- Set the paper size in the printer driver to match the stock: 2 inches by 5.5 inches.
Part 1Print tickets for an event
- 1Click Events in the sidebar and open your event.
- 2Click Print tickets at the top of the event page.
- 3Choose a Ticket type to print just one type, or leave it on All types.
- 4Tick Not yet printed to skip tickets you have already printed.
- 5Click Update. The page previews every ticket and tells you how many valid tickets match.
- 6Click the Print button. It shows the number of tickets.
- 7Choose your ticket printer in the print window and check the settings in the last section of this article.
- 8Print. When you close the print window, the page confirms how many tickets were marked as printed.
Only valid tickets print. Tickets that are checked in, refunded or voided are left out. Up to 500 tickets load at a time. For more, print in batches by ticket type or with Not yet printed ticked.
Part 2Print one order
- 1Tap Print tickets on the Sale complete screen, right after a box office sale. The page opens in a new tab with just that order.
- 2Click Orders in the sidebar instead, find a paid order and click Print on its row. Owners and admins can do this.
- 3Click the Print button and print as above.
- 4Click Print whole event instead if you meant to print everything.
Part 3Set up the print window
These settings are in your browser's print window. Open More settings if you do not see them. Getting them right once usually sticks.
- 1Choose your ticket printer as the destination.
- 2Set the paper size to 2 x 5.5 inches, matching your stock. If it is not listed, add it in the printer driver first.
- 3Set Margins to None.
- 4Set Scale to 100, or choose Actual size. Do not use Fit to page.
- 5Turn off headers and footers.
- 6Print one ticket as a test and check it lands on the perforation.
Tips
- Each ticket has a main part and a tear-off stub. Both carry the event, the date, the seat or ticket type and the ticket code. The main part has the QR code.
- Tickets print in black only, which suits thermal printers. Your company name prints as text in place of a logo.
- A ticket printed again carries a REPRINT mark with a count on its stub, so a second copy is easy to spot.
- Seated tickets print in order by section, row and seat, so a stack is easy to file for will call.
If something goes wrong
Tickets come out shrunk, cut off or drifting off the perforation.
Check the print window: scale 100 or Actual size, margins None, headers and footers off. Then check the paper size in the printer driver is 2 x 5.5 inches.
After printing, the page says You do not have access to print tickets.
You are signed in with a Box office login. Your tickets did print. They were just not recorded as printed, so they will still show under Not yet printed. An owner, admin or manager can print when that record matters.
The page says No tickets match these filters.
Untick Not yet printed, set Ticket type to All types and click Update. Remember that checked-in, refunded and voided tickets never print.
The count says it loaded the first 500 and to filter to print the rest.
Print this batch. Then tick Not yet printed, click Update and print the next batch. Repeat until none are left.
