Marketing tags for Google and Meta
Add your Google tag ID and Meta Pixel ID so you can measure how your ads turn into ticket sales.
Who can do this: Owners and admins can set company tags. Managers can also set tags on a single event.
Before you start
- Have your Google tag ID or your Meta Pixel ID ready. You find the Pixel ID in Meta Events Manager under Data sources.
Part 1Add tags for your whole company
Company tags load on every event unless an event uses its own.
- 1Click Settings in the sidebar.
- 2Click Advertising at the top of the page, or scroll to Advertising and analytics.
- 3Paste your ID in Google tag ID. It can be a Google Tag Manager container (GTM-), Google Analytics 4 (G-) or Google Ads (AW-) ID.
- 4Paste your number in Meta (Facebook) Pixel ID. It is a long number, like 123456789012345.
- 5Click Save tracking. You see Saved.
Enter the ID only, not the code snippet. Ticket-Worx adds the standard Google and Meta code for you.
Part 2Use different tags for one event
Use this when an event is promoted from a different ad account.
- 1Click Events in the sidebar and open the event.
- 2Scroll to the bottom and click Event advertising tags to open it.
- 3Fill in Google tag ID, Meta (Facebook) Pixel ID, or both.
- 4Click Save tracking.
- 5Clear a box and save again to go back to the company ID for that tag.
Each box works on its own. Leave one blank and that tag uses your company ID. The line beside the heading shows Using company tags or Custom for this event.
Part 3What gets tracked
- 1Know that tags load on your event, checkout and ticket pages.
- 2Know that they report page views, event views, checkout started, and purchases with their value.
- 3Know that buyer names and emails are never sent to Google or Meta.
- 4Check your Google or Meta account after a sale to confirm the purchase shows up.
Tips
- You can enter one Google ID and one Meta ID. To run several Google tools at once, use a Google Tag Manager container and add the others inside it.
- Advertising cookies may require a cookie notice depending on where your buyers live.
- To see which posts, ads or partners drive sales without any outside tools, use tracking links on the event page.
If something goes wrong
You see "Google tag ID should look like GTM-XXXXXXX or G-XXXXXXXXXX. Paste the ID only, not the code snippet."
Remove everything except the ID itself. It starts with GTM-, G- or AW-, followed by letters and numbers.
You see "Meta Pixel ID is a long number, like 123456789012345. Paste the ID only, not the code snippet."
Paste only the digits. A Pixel ID is 10 to 20 digits long with no letters.
Purchases are not showing in Google or Meta.
Check whether the event has its own IDs under Event advertising tags, since those replace the company ones. Ad blockers on your own browser can also hide your test visits.
