Give a free item to the first buyers or the first in the door

Set up a reward such as a free shirt for the first 100 buyers or the first 50 people scanned in. Winners are emailed a voucher to show at pickup.

Who can do this: Owners, admins and managers.

Before you start

  • Create the event first. Counting starts when you add the reward, so add it before sales open if every early buyer should count.

Part 1Add a reward

  1. 1Click Events in the sidebar, then click the name of your event.
  2. 2Scroll to Rewards for the first buyers or the first in.
  3. 3Type the item in What they get, for example Free T-shirt.
  4. 4Enter the number in How many you are giving away.
  5. 5Choose The first to buy online or The first scanned in at the door in Who wins.
  6. 6For buyers, choose whether each order gets one item or one for every ticket in Each order gets.
  7. 7Say where to pick it up in Where to collect it. This is printed on the voucher.
  8. 8Leave Announce it on the event page while it lasts ticked to show the reward to buyers.
  9. 9Click Add reward.

A reward for the first to buy counts online orders. Box office sales do not count, because the voucher is sent by email.

Part 2What winners get

Each winner is emailed a voucher with the item, a code and a QR code. A buyer also sees it on their order page. When a door reward is won, the scanner shows the winner on screen at that moment.

  1. 1The winner shows the voucher on their phone, or the email, at pickup.
  2. 2Scan the voucher's QR code with the door scanner. It shows Reward in green and marks the voucher used.
  3. 3Without a scanner, tap Event staff: mark as handed out on the voucher itself, then Yes, handed out.
  4. 4A voucher that was already used shows Already collected with the time.

Part 3See the winners

  1. 1Scroll to the rewards section on the event page. Won shows how many have been won and Collected how many were handed out.
  2. 2Click See the winners and mark items handed out.
  3. 3Click Mark handed out next to a winner, or Undo if it was marked by mistake.

Click Turn off to pause a reward. Vouchers already won stay valid. A voucher stops working if its order is refunded.
